Hi people.....
Haven't updated in ages so I think I have a lot to write....but we'll see. Where to start?
Well....a couple of weeks ago I went away with Senior Management for the Microsoft Challenge up in Scotland. It was 5 days of orienteering, canoeing, running and mountain biking around the Isle of Arun and all over and around the mountainous regions. We had to complete tasks, collect tokens etc in a wide variety of challenges that tested intelligents fitness and strategy. It certainly isn't everyone's cup of tea but I was in my element! The weather was glorious the competition was fun and the management team are all really great guys. Darren put together a slideslow on a dvd and I just watched it. No word of a lie....I actually had a tear in my eye, I still can't believe it is over and I refuse to settle back into work again!
I started seeing a Kiwi guy called Shaun but that has kind of fizzled out now and I'm currently dating a guy caled Shane from Southend. He is a primary school teacher, although he has a law degree, and it quite refreshing to meet a guy so far apart from the corporate tossers I normally like. We are on our third date now and it is certainly looking promising. Watch this space.
I have FINALLY sent off my provisional license form and hopefully I'll start learning in a couple of weeks. I have aready saved a couple of grand for my first car, so I'll be the honourary driver for all nights out when I eventually pass my test.
I have also started teaching down at the diving club on Sundays. Since my banking job is certainly unfulfilling and rather dull at times, I wanted to do something a little more rewarding. The kids are all brilliant (bar a few tantrums here and there) and I've entered a few in their first competition in a couple of weeks which I am really excited about!
Hmmmm....what else to report on? Ah yes....I have entered myself in my first triathlon for September. It is the annual Men's Health triathlon meet so I am training hard at the moment for that. Hopefully I won't keel over and die/make a complete prat of myself. It will be in London so any support will be greatly appreciated, although I am pretty sure I'll be f*ing and blinding the whole way. It won;t be pretty that's for sure.
Well I think that is pretty much it in the life of James at the moment....until next time, bye for now! (what show is that from???)
xjx

Hi everyone.
well...at the start of this week I was a single man with his dignity intact. O what a difference a week can make. i plan on doing nothing this weekend as this week has been filled with thrills and spills. I shall begin......
I returned to work Tuesday begrudgingly, and arranged to go out with an old 'flame' as some may call it, others who are less polite would call it a 'shag' lol, in soho fro dinner and drinks. We went down into the friendly society and consumed bottle after bottle after bottle or rose wine. (I think it is fair to say that's where it all went wrong) Me and Lars (his name-he's Danish)continued to scour sohos bars looking for hot men, before we began chewing each others faces off and had a rendezvous in the toilets in rupert st. (Yes I am a classy laydee, I know!) Post bum-fun we decided to call it a night as it was getting late, so he walked me to Tottenham Court Road station. after Lars walked off I thought it would be a great idea to pop round to Arthur's (wrong move, I know!) I buzzed his door and he let me up, and as I stumbled into his flat I started to declare my undying love for him and that I wanted him back (this was my way of trying to get some action) When he explained that one last night of passion was not going to be healthy, I stormed about screaming, took all my remainding stuff out of his wardrobe and left.
On the tube home I decided that I didn't really want to go to my house, so I phoned up Arthur's mates' ex boyfriend (who has since become a good friend of mine) asking if I could stay. he sayed yes, as he is a night person anyway and so I travelled to Canning Town. When I arrived at Canning Town station I called Leon asking for directions; he continued to explain that I needed to cross this arterial motorway "at the breaks int eh barriers" which is basically a crappy way of saying "at the traffic lights." I looked for these 'breaks but I couldn't see them so I just hopped over these barriers. In the middle of the motorway, under the flyover I went to jump a 3rd barrier, i then fell a good 6/7ft drop. whoops! I was stuck in this hole and I couldn't get out. I then noticed a tunnel, which I thought would lead me out, so I crawled through this black soot/dust/crap and found myself in the middle of the roundabout nearby. Again....James was stuck. At this point I was hysterical so I just sat cross-legged in the middle of this grassy roundabout and cried. I had to phone Leon who had to pull onto this roundabout and rescue me. O DEAR!
I was supposed to have drinks with Arthur Wednesday night, but he cancelled as 'I treat him like shit' which is a fair point as I have been pretty abusive when we have rowed drunkenly.
So wednesday night I had dinner with the girls which was a wicked evening, but the food in Zizi's is proper bland. Of course, the company made the night anyway.
Last night I had the gay-interbank function at the swanky 'prism' bar down by Bank station. It is basically where gay suits in their 30's get together for formal post-work drinks- a great opportunity to (a) find a rich man and (b)get some connections. I thought I wouldn't drink but they gyus were having none of it, so glass after glass after glass was consumed (all for free as the MD of rabobank was out) and I continued to flirt quite profusely to every man with two legs and a penis in sight. at the end of the night I decided my colleague (a rather loaded one with an apartment) looked better than at the start of the evening so we had a bit of a rendezvous round his. I was a true laydee and we only snogged and maybe played briefly. Of course this morning was not at all awkward when I bumped into him in the lift. I do kinda like him, but its definately a non-starter!
I am out tonight in London I believe, and then my weekend shall be soent recouperating.
That is a week in the life of James.
Hope you enjoyed readin this! Lol.
xjx

Right......EVERYONE!
Now that I am a singleton and I'm still a little hurt by my split with Arthur, I feel the need to spend as much times with my friends as physically possible. So can we all/ individuals let me know when you're free so we can have a drink and a boogie, and then I can dance my troubles away.
I truly need my friends right now, so if you don't want to comment can you call/text me in the next couple of days.
I have a date with a cute personal trainer from my gym in a few weeks, but I'm hoping to get under a few more men before then. So PLEASE help me in my search for gorgeous guys with great bods. I would go life but it aint pretty in there nowadays.
xjx

Well....for those of you that didn't know (which is probably very few) I broke up with Arthur on Sunday night. We had two rather large rows on both Friday and Sunday night and it just made me look at the whole relationship and it wasn't going to work. He wanted to move in an area that i couldn't really afford. He's also 15 years older and has already seen and experienced so much that I still want to experience. I want to travel, to do volunteer work, to pass my driving test, to start my degree. He just wants to settle down. we are basically at two different stages of our lives. I have no regrets of the past 8 months with him; but here is to looking into the future and all the cool exciting things that we are yet to encounter!
xjx

Hi all,

Hope you have all been well. I have been gymming it stupid amounts recently. I actually went twice today and my body has had enough, it actually hurted my arms to brush my teeth this morning. It is a tragic state of affairs.
I just fancied an update, as i haven't in a while, although there is not much to tell.
I do however have some good news....
I got selected to go away with senior management in June. It is an outdoor pursuits week up in Scotland where we mountain bike, kyack, swim and run across muddy and hilly terrain, whilst solving puzzles. I am basically going on it to network with senior management, so when bonus and pay-rise time come round again they may be more than kind.
Also enjoying work alot more recently, made a few gay friends who are quite senior in the company, so I have permanent gym and lunch-buddies. I'm also getting to know alot more people around the bank and everyone is so friendly, so I don't feel as confined to my desk space anymore.
In other news Arthur returned from Aus Sunday morning, so he took me out for a champagne breakfast at Balans in soho, and then we continued to drink for a further 11 hours with his friends. Getting a McDonalds at the end of the night seemed like such a great idea, and i discovered those free vouchers you get when you purchase an extra value meal are deadly, 2 big macs and a cheeseburger later I had to stick my fingers down my throat as it wasn't sitting too neatly in my stomach. I know what you're thinking....."classy lady" indeed!
As I said....Hope all is well with everyone that reads this.
xjx
P.S: Thanks Prue for going out of your way to bring my wallet round....appreciate it muchly!

Hi guys....particularly Martin!!!!
I have been given this puzzle to solve to decide whether I get to go on this adventures weekend with senior Management from rabobank.

Wondering if anyof you have a clue???

It is as follows:

FPT5 UDOSSDSA RH TOEG AOANT G TTGOHO OAET ER

There no clues, but I assume it's an annogram???

The weekend is based on team building, and it raises money for the NSPCC. I don't know if this info will help. It is also up in Scotland and involves activities such as kyacking, running and mountain biking.

Please help if you can!

Loves ya all
xjx

Hi all,

Had a really hectic weekend all in all but it was SO much fun.
Went to Brentwood Friday night with Kate, Dani, Steph and Caz. Was a superb night. Just getting a silly drunk and dancing like fools. *does crazy scream whilst shaking head like the drugs people whose heads exploded* It always seems like such a good idea at the time to start breakdancing to Run DMC's It's like that. But i wouldn't recommend backflipping in the middle of a club to anyone.
Saturday I went to Covent garden to gym it, and then ended up goin out with Arthur's friends in soho. Stayed at Arthur's friends apartment in docklands (which I have now decided thats where I want to live), woke up still pissed and started the day as we meant to go on with vodka martini's in bed at 10 a.m. Went out for a Whetherspoon's roast on the Sunday, returned home and then went to 131 last night. Which is actually a bloody good night.
Now my head hurts, my throat is sore and my voice is so hoarse that I sound like a drag queen. Drinking is not big and its not clever......but it is fun!
xjx

I felt like this weekend, was actually a weekend. It sounds like a wierd thing to say. But when you work 5 days a week, everyday is just one day closer to the weekend, and the weekend seems to go so quickly. You either do nothing and laze about the house, then return to work on Monday feeling like you've achieved/done nothing all weekend. Or you pack it with things to do, and then it flies by and before you know it, it's Monday morning again.
This weekend was different, and I don't know why.
I met amy Friday night with arthur and went to cafe Uno in Brentwood then chilled in the lounge of the sugar hut for one drink, just chatting and having a laugh. Saturday I used all my gift vouchers in next, H&M and HMV. and then went to see 'the constant garderner'
Btw guys, this is a MUST SEE film. It has won loads of awards and only after watching it can you see why. i cried at two parts in the middle of the film. It's all about AIDS in africa and the corrupt UK government and large drug companies exploiting the epidemic.
then yesterday I spent the morning and afternoon flat-hunting with Arthur, before I returned to Hornchurch for a Whetherspoon roast with my mum (Roast dinner and a drink for a fiver! You know!) and then popped round to see Amy again before she returns to Uni today.
Was a fantastic few days. Now I am back at work.
:-(
xjx

I had the wierdest dream last night.
It involved you, miss Dani Roberts, Kate Moss and some dark haired girl who was a complete bitch, called Ellie.
Anyway me and dani were in brentwood drinking when one of the girls started a fight with Dani, pushed her on the ground and stole her phone.
Obviously James is having none of it, so he chases them. Dani just goes home crying.
Next thing I remember I was in hornchurch outside Lloyds.
This girl Ellie ran off towards the queens thatre but Kate Moss ran straight on. Deciding that I could out-run Kate I chased after her and left Ellie.
I caught Kate, grabbed her hair and pulled her along the street into the middle of the road. At this point I threatened to throw her into the road and into oncoming traffic, if she didn't tell me where Ellie was with Dani's phone. Whilst screaming at her, "No one does that to my friend!" and "What the fuck did she do to you?!"
I demanded ellie's phone number from kate, and I called her, putting on a perfect impression of Kate Moss' voice, coaxing her back to Lloyds saying the coast was clear.
I then trapped Ellie, got Dani's phone back, and returned it to Dani back in Brentwood.
All in all it was a happy ending. With me being the violent, woman-beating, mentallist super-hero that everyone loves.
I just thought I would share it before I forgot it.
xjx

Good afternoon guys.
Guess who has finished all their work early again today?!
It's a US bank holiday and so the trades are few and far between. I have asked to be shown new stuff but apparently they haven't got anything to show me. Which is utter bollox as I know like a 100th of what I could know about my job.
Am pissed off.
I can't wait to start my part=-time degree as atleast I can sit here and read or research when I run out of things to do.

Well.....there is my bitching and moaning over and done with.
Anyway....I am thinking of going to visit Amy in exeter on the first weekend of february. travelling up Friday night and returning Monday morning (taking work off on the Monday of course.) Would anyone wish to join me?
It's nothing concrete, but as far as I am aware I am free that weekend.
Planning to also visit Sharon and Kate Laff before end of march aswell.

I've paid off Prague and my account is looking better than I thought. I still need to upgrade my account and get a £200 overdraft just for a rainy day.

I have so much to save for. a months rent in advance, spending money for Prague, Amsterdam and Ibiza. James is goign to be a broke boy!
Moral of the story is stop eating otu and drinking and start saving!

slight dilemma tonight.....cosy night in with bottle of wine, arthur and telly...or straight home and gym.
MUST GET FIT AGAIN!

peace out,
loves y'all more than a vegan loves viagra!
xjx

James fucked up......again.
I ended up staying in life last night and getting reasonably drunk.
I then decided to phone Arthur at half 1 in the morning.
He is REALLY not impressed, and infact VERY pissed off at me.
I've apologised, but does anyone have any suggestions how I an make it up to him.
I'm sure it will be forgiven and forgotten soon, but he said that my word means nothing to him as I have said that I wouldn't but still seem to keep doing so. And that really hurts.
I have no hangover, but I have never felt so crappy.
xjx

Was in topman in Oxford street when this song comes on,
"Surrender" by Performance.
Actually LOVE it.
download it if you haven't heard of it before, and share the love.
It's a bit of a funky rocky record, so don't worry it's not hardcore trance or gay pop-cheese.
Just at work now, been hard at it all day, have barely stopped. Good news is I have about 15 mins of work left to complete which I have to drag out over 3/4 of an hour. Hence this livejournal post.
Not much else to report on.
Ooooooo.......apart from I went to see cirque de soleil at the Royal Albert Hall on Saturday night with arthur. It was one of the best things I've ever seen. GO SEE IT!
plans for this week....catch up with friends, get my dad a goat from oxfam for his Birthday, Got one of Arthurs friend's birthday meal on sat, and hopefully get to see breakback mountain, or "bareback mountain" as us gays like to call it.

Much love

xjx

hey there party people
I'm just waiting for someone to return my call at work, so I thought I would do a very brief post. Or atleast as short as the wait is.
Thanks to everyone that was there on Sunday. arthur loved you all, and I'm glad you all appear to like Arthur too.
been so bored at work today
I finished all my work by midday, took just short of a 2 hour lunch and I have spent the rest of the day booking an Easter break to Prague, and reading the independant newspaper online.
Love the fact I get paid for this though, despite sometimes getting excruciatingly bored. The lack of workload isn't my fault, aparently the department are overwhelmed with work and don't have time to train me fully yet.
I have tomorrow off anyway, as it is that one special day in everybody's calendar.............
JAMES MATTHES' BIRTHDAY
I like diamonds and cars......remember that.
Or atleat a bottle of cherry lambrini and a card will suffice, haha!#
Am hoping to catch up with people over the xmas hols, and whilst you lot are all going to be having long lie-ins and many drinking sessions, I will be workign (inbetween my holiday entitlement, of course)

That is all as they are ringing now
chiao
xjx
